Seeing the people comment on odd little behaviors and the wonderful glossary
of terms inspired me to kick in.

Shivering - One of mine starts to shake when he figures out that he is going
to get a bath. He is fine when being held until that realization and then
he becomes a paint shaker. Just seeing a basin in the sink and water
running starts it. He does the same thing after clipping about two nails --
in anticipation of getting a quick nipped I guess. The constant flow of
linatone during clipping has no effect. Fortunately, he also gets very
passive when shivering because he used to fight to escape like a demon. A
quivering ferret is easier to handle.

Hug and Scoot Backwards - Have several that do this with anything that is
about the right size -- small balls, ring box, wadded bags.

Bag Leapfrog - Several like to get into medium sized plastic bags and lunge
towards the closed end so that the whole bag lurches forward. They can
travel like this for some distance when they repeat the leaps. A variation
is to use the bag as a protective shield pounce on a nearby victim who is
outside of the bag.

Bag Body Surfing - An adaptation of bag leapfrog done with smaller plastic
bags. They get in and lie on their chests with front paws folded and nose
poking into the "bottom". They push off with their rear legs and scoot
around. Sometimes several will do it together and play bumper cars. If
Ralph convinces Ronnie to bring him over, he may teach them the official
CHAOS technique. They could then make it an event at union outings.

Ferret Fishing - This is a participation sport. It's done with a wiffle
golf ball tied to a 4' string that is attached to a short fishing rod (i.e.,
Ferret Joy Stick). Troll around with the ball until one or more spot the
lure. Then, see how long you can keep them from it. They will surmount any
obstacle (couches, people, coffee tables) without breaking stride to get
that ball. Try and land them when they finally strike. More fight than a
muskie!

Couch Sharking - Let an unsuspecting person extend an arm or hand beyond the
side of the arm of a couch. Two of ours will sneak up stand up against the
outside of the couch and leap up. At couch level all you see are open jaws
snapping at you. Peering over the edge to see who it is makes the nose a
target. They never actually bite, they seem to know that the sight alone is
scary. They have never seen Jaws, but imitate it perfectly.
