Hi there, i had a question for various vets about how much a ferret
should urinate in a day. It seems to me that my ferrets have always drank
a lot of water, but occasionally Potpie's consumption will escalate and
an entire corner of her litter box will be sodden - 3 or 4 inches (i
clean it once a day) worth. Is this normal? Friday drinks a little less,
but urinates a LOT less.

Friday's adrenal problem, according to Dr Daldin: the Dr. removed the
left gland, which was about 4 or 5 times its normal size, and put her on
Prednisone for a few days. She went on amoxicillin today for respiratory
problems - the Dr had a tube down her throat for the operation, and since
then Friday's been clearing her throat and coughing - she sounds like a
coffee percolater more than anything else!

Another note: Friday's on "limited activity" for the rest of the week.
All of you can probably appreciate how hard it is to limit a ferret's
activity - i've been having to watch her like a hawk, but even so, she'll
still sneak away and start climbing the side of Potpie's cage when i step
out of my room for a second. I wish she didnt have to stay caged so
much, but it's for her own good...

Potpie, who is definitedly right-pawed,
Friday, '*sulk*' and
Melissa, mmmm, gotta get another ferret. :)
