  NYS Ferret, Fitch-Ferret & Fitch License.
  Issued by the Dept of Environ. Conser. Special Licenses Div.
  $10 anually, per person or site (not ferret)
 
  We shall be traveling to Muncie,Indiana in June, from Long Island,NY.
  We have never travelled long distance with our fuzzies before, other than
health certificates and immunizations, what else will we need to do this
legally?  Are there any areas along our route that don't allow ferrets?
 
 Since in our rescue work, the only ferrets we keep are ones that can not
be successfully adopted out to good homes, we have never owned a young
problem free ferret of our very own.  Now is the time and I am looking for
one with the potential to be quite large if possible.  I needa breeder
either within a helf days travel from Long Island, NY, or on the route to
Muncie, Indiana.
 
I'm a wildlife rehabilitator and also a nuisance trapper.  When ever we
get a call about a ferret in the wild, it is either a wild mink, or a farm
mink, or a recently lost pet ferret that usually shows up at someones
doorstep or a well lit all night garage, but we have never had a call and
trapped or foound a domestic ferret living in the wild.
