Hi, my name is Sam and I want to introduce myself to the list! I have
had 2 ferrets before but now I only have one which I just bought a few days
ago. My friend and I named her Abby. When I was at the pet shop, I
decided on Abby because she seemed to be the most sedate one there and she
didn't try to bite. However, after Ia while, when I got home, I noticed
that her hind legs are kind of dragging. I would say 75% of the time she
is walking around fine, but not hopping yet maybe due to a new home and 25%
she's dragging her hind legs with her belly flat. Not only this, she
seemed really sluggish and doesn't have a grip at all when I pick her up or
put her on my shoulder. I checked the stool and they are dark red in color
and very soft, unlike the feces of my previous ferrets. there is plenty of
food and water and she's eating a lot. She's only about 7-8 weeks old.
Are there any suggestions or comments on what could be wrong? I read the
FAQ but couldn't really find a description of symptons that match this
exactly. What is wrong? Please help!
Sam
