"She grabs it with her front paws and pulls her paws under her
  body like she's holding it close to her chest.  Then she uses
  her back legs to go around the room in reverse."
 
Give her a ping-pong ball or a plastic easter egg and see what she does.
It could be entertaining.  Gilbert (and sometimes Grendel) tends to grab
the ball to his chest and drag it back into a hidey-hole.  The problem
is that it's too slippery and light, and it pops out and rolls away,
causing an excited chase and pounce, with another attempt to drag it
away.  They're finally a little bored with this game (after months of
entertainment for all of us) because they've apparently mastered the art
of ping-pong ball capture.
 
On the Audubon Society video on black-footed ferrets, researchers identify
a mound of diggings near a hole as BFF diggings because of the trough down
the middle where the BFF had dragged dirt away from the hole to the edge
of the mound.  Then they show footage of a BFF dragging dirt with her
front legs.  Looks just like Gilbert at play!
