        Susan - I am a bit concerned with your vet believing that it is normal
for ferrets to have dramatic hair loss and treating the condition with pills.
Even if you don't do surgery do to age, which we haven't even discussed yet, I
think that adrenal disease should be strongly considered in all cases like
Sula's.  There are even pretty good blood tests available for borderline cases.
So we CAN investigate all cases of hair loss without just blindly prescribing
pills. Check the StAR database for information on vets in your area - it's a
great resource.
