Well, after ferret-proofing my boxspring with a fitted sheet (thanks to
all who made suggestions) I've expanded my kids play area to the entire
upstairs of the apartment. The only problem is teaching Zaphod to chill
out! I had him trained pretty well in the computer room not to scratch,
etc., but it seems to be starting all over and my patience is wearing thin.
My question is to anyone who has suggestions on scolding. I have read
many posts about this and I feel like I've tried everything but he just
sees it as another game, dooking away after having been yelled at. I
thought about maybe using a spray bottle (I read someones post about it)
but I don't want to create more of a fear for water than he already has.
He is only about five months... am I expecting too much of him by letting
him have free reign of the upstairs so soon. Trillian is 1year 5months and
she seems to be completely ready for the responsibility, but I don't know
about my little wacko :)
Any suggestions are welcomed.
BTW--Zaphod's hair has grown back (he was the one losing hair on him neck
if you remember). I came to the conclusions that its cause was the way he
rests his head on the top level of the ferret townhouse so I sewed a pillow
in that spot (instead of it being raw cage) and the irritation stopped. Go
figure :)
