I t sounds like you handled it pretty well. I have seen ferrets get
overheated from less than that - and they tend to have more heat problems as
they get older. One time, one of my old ferrets got overheated just from
sleeping in a blanket on my wife's stomach for 45 minutes.
Luckily, they tend to have little residual effects in most cases.
If they are up within 15 minutes, I have never seen long term problems.
Things to watch for in serious cases of heat exhaustion - tarry stools
(evidence of shock), and vomiting several hours past the apparent recovery.
