>Now for the infamous question: what color is my ferret? Sparky has
>white undercoat, top guardhairs are grey/silver, four white paws, white
>>tip on his tail, white chest and white face with grey mask...
Isn't that a classic silver mitt?? I thought so...my BooBoo looks exactly
like this (except no tip on the tail) (and except he's much prettier of
course, cuz he's mine <G> )
A breeder friend tells me that with silvers and/or silver mitts, they will
get lighter with age and if they live long enough may become completely
white. Well, BooBoo is now 5 years old and while he used to sometines get
almost as dark as a sable in the winter,(first year or two) he is now a
beautiful pale grey everywhere, and his hindquarters are indeed almost all
white. He has even developed a pale white striping down the back of his
head (not as striking as a Blaze, mind you, just noticeable to those of us
who love him and peer at him constantly).
Does yours have a not quite dark nor white pink nose too, with little dark
spots on it?? Oh he's so cute I have to run downstairs and snuggle with him
for a minute. Please excuse me....
