Nancy and Percy,
We sometimes see this problem (when ferrets months or years after the first
adrenal is removed develop an adrenal tumor on the other side). When ferrets
have two adrenal tumors at the time of the first surgery we remove 11/2
adrenal glands (they only need part of one adrenal gland to live.
So there are two options:
1)Surgery to remove part of the adrenal gland. This is very likely to cure
the symptoms for good and the surgeon can again check for pancreas tumors.
2)Medical treatment with lysodren to control the symptoms--this can be a long
term treatment and can have potential side effects.
