hello again everyone,
i was wondering if any FMLers (vets especially) could answer a question
or two concerning fleas.
when we adopted our cat in the fall she had a mild case of the fleas and
our vet recommended putting her on something called 'program'. tyhis
product works from the inside of the animal and renders (i believe) the
fleas sterile so they can't reproduce and in turn the fleas disappear
completely in one or two life cycles (~1-2 months) with no new fleas again.
anyway i was wondering if this is a safe product for ferrets since Cal
(in his visits with my parents cat) has gotten a flea problem. the vet
here in windsor isn't sure enough about ferrets to recommend it so i was
hoping someone out there would have an answer for me.
cheers,
                Mike

BTW the 'program' product is made by Ciba-Geigy Canada Ltd., the variety
i have is suitable for cats up to 4.5 kg. in weight. also the active
ingredient is lufenuron (133mg per dose)

thanks again,
                Mike and Cal
