It has been exactly one month since Buster died.  Naturally, none of us that
miss him so, have forgotten him.
 
I thought that the FML membership would like to know what I learned from
Buster's death.
 
If you or you and your Vet are inclined to autopsy your fuzzy, please make
sure that your fuzzy >DON'T READ ON IF YOU HAVE A WEAK STOMACH< is not frozen
after passing.  My understanding is that freezing the body will lessen the
chances of an autopsy being useful in providing results which reveal the
cause of death.
 
In other words the Vet can conceal the cause of death by freezing the body.
Further, if you bring your fuzzy to the Vet AND there is any concern your pal
will not emerge alive, PLEASE give specific instructions not to freeze, should
you possibly want to have your fuzzy autopsied.
 
I am not a Vet.  Maybe we should ask that one of the professionals
(i.e. Dr. Williams) to address this subject more thoroughly than I have.
 
All of the above came to light as a result of my experience with Buster's
Vets.  The Vet that monitored Buster's progress (or in reality, lack thereof)
overnight made the "mistake" of freezing his body after his passing.
 
Enough for now.  Those of you in the untenable position of having to make some
hard decisions, PLEASE be careful!
