     Ken,

Re: "... nose flicking thing sounds good ... I don't want to do it
so often that she won't like me anymore."

One of the greatest things about pets is their unconditional love
for their owner. Even to the point of ridicularity when the owner
abuses the animal. However, I personally believe that nose flicking
is not abusive and it will (should) not become a regular habit for you
once she learns not to nip/bite.

I know I must have flicked my guys an uncountable number of times.
I realize they rely on me to live, but the follow me everywhere.
Achilles was named just that because of his constant presence
     under-foot.

So, don't worry about flicking too much, your ferret will
[hopefully] eventually get the point. Now, throwing her across the
room may make her dislike you a bit! Just kidding, just kidding, I
don't throw my ferrets [anymore]. Ha, just kidding!! Woe, don't get
     upset, folks, I'm just KIDDING!!!!!

BTW, if she doesn't stop biting (as some folks will tell about
their "terrors") and you haven't settled on a name, you could name her
     "Luciferrette".

                                        Regards,
                                           Al
