Hi. I'm new to the FML and this is my first post. About 2.5 weeks ago
my husband and I purchased 2 8 week old female ferrets. Both sables,
one dark brown - Pepper, and one light tan - Salt. They're great! I
can't tell you how much we've enjoyed the past few weeks with them.
Everything is a learning experience and so far we're just taking each
adventure as they come! They had their first vet visit and I was very
pleased with the vet. She's a ferret owner herself. The two things I
have questions on are Ferretone and Litter Training. Pepper LOVES
Ferretone. The bottle says to give a kit 4 pumps of that stuff each
day. She'll eat it right off the spoon. Salt on the other hand sniffs
it and looks away. If I put it in her food, she won't eat the food.
I've heard mixed reports on this stuff and I was just wondering what I
should do about it. I've heard it should be used for clipping nails,
etc to distract them. But then the bottle says that the kits need this
stuff as a supplement. What should I do? Comments?

Lastly, potty training. So far its not *TOO* bad. While they're in the
cage (and considering I keep the litter tray neat & clean) they do fine.
If they're far enough away from the cage, they'll just stop and go
wherever they're at. But sometimes I watch them and it seems
DELIBERATE! They know they don't get out of the cage when they wake up
until they go potty. They'll jump in the box & back up (they're smart
little girls - they psych me out!). No sooner they're out, they're off
to a corner to leave me little presents. I'll have to invest in a few
more litter trays but to be honest, I live in a one bedroom apartment.
All they have access to right now is the living room, hall and dining
room, which their cage is in. We're not talking a lot of space here.
Suggestions? Or is this just normal?
