Michelle,
It is nice that your guys will have more room to play, but I would not
get rid of the cage all together. They are used to sleeping in it and it
is a refuge to them. I live in a 2 bdrm apartment also, and my guys have
the run of the place while I am home, but when I go out for more than a
few minutes or to work, they go into the cage. It is safer for them to be
there while you can't be to watch them. For instance, if maintanence
should call unexpectedly you wouldn't want one to escape accidentally; or,
God forbid, if there was an emergency, like a fire while you weren't home,
the rescue people would have a much better chance saving them if they were
all together in the cage. Also, I don't know what kind of cage you have,
but I got something called a "ferret condo". It's about 30"Lx18"Wx30"T
and has three levels (2 full, 3rd is 1/2 loft) w/ramps. I got it at a
local supply store for about $75. It's big enough for them to be
comfortable. Just a couple things for you to consider.
Fred,
Mickey & Niki...
