Thanks for answering me! Debbie, you really helped ease alot of my fears. Dr.
Williams, I think it is just shedding. Harold's as active as ever. He has no
bald spots, just seems like his undercoat is gone. I haven't weighed him, but he
seems to have lost 1-1.5 lbs (he was 3.7 lbs.). I'll keep a cautious eye on him!
Nina- you read an article written in 1998? :)
Joseph, Harold has been around a 7 month old a few times. Both have been fine.
Harold was curious & the baby didn't seem to notice Harold most of the time.
Three of us were surrounding them the whole time. One time, the baby tried to
squish Harold & Harold nipped. The baby didn't even cry. Needless to say, we did
separate them then. Now all ferrets & babies are different. I would never let
Harold around a LITTLE baby. I had a 7 year old visit who loved Harold. Harold
has never been so gentle and calm in his life! Kristy was holding him & turning
him upside down (things that normally upset him). He just layed there (I was
almost worried he had died!). I felt sorry for him.
Doctors? Last Febrary I had posted my concerns about having Harold & Scooter
vaccinated (because of the reactions I had read about). Well they were
vaccinated, NO reactions! My question now is, Harold has had 2 sets of shots -
his newborn (pet store) shots and distemper in Feb. Scooter's only had the Feb
shot that I know of. Should I give them shots again before 1 year? Harold's 1
year old now & Scooter's 10 months.
Thanks!
Stacy, thin Harold, & fat Scooter
