Hi everyone,
I had a very bad time last week. I was studying for finals and it was a
gorgeous day outside so I was studying with the door open. I was fairly
stressed from finals and I forgot about my buddy who was sleeping behind
the couch, his favorite spot. After a few hours of Calculus I was ready
for a break. I went looking for him and you guessed it he was gone. I tore
apart the house looking in every space imaginable for him. We have a dryer
hookup but no dryer. He's always been interested in it but the fall to the
crawl space floor is to far and he always backs away. Anyways, I picked
up a flash light, it was after 10 at night, and went outside. We have woods
behind the apartment. First, I checked the crawlspace. No luck. Then I went
out to the woods. No chance in hell. I walked around some more checking cars
and everything else. Finally, i decided this was useless. I went home took
his cage and food outside and left the light on. I have no idea how good
ferrets are about coming home.
Finally, I had to go to bed. I had 2 finals the next day. But i couldn't
fall asleep until after 3:30. Got up at 6:30 took my tests and went to the
copy store to print up copies of my Lost poster with the little picture on
it of him. Checking the ditches and shoulders on the way home. That was
pleasant having my heart drop evertime I saw a squirrel or possum.
Went back and did my search again checked the woods. Crawled in every
crawl space around and proceeded to pass out fliers. Everybody here knows
him because I always let him outside and run around and they see me watching
him. I get to apartment buildings down and give a flier to girl who says a
ferret walked in her door last night. They also had there door open. She
said they didn't know what to do. He just walked around and went upstairs
and checked out the bedrooms. They called a friend who took him home and
gave him a bed and some water, and he brought him over. You cannot believe
how happy I was. It was over 80 degrees and with Toon's plight I was very
worried. I still can't believe he just walked into that girl's apartment.
He's so bold.
Sorry this is so long, but I felt a happy ending was in order even
though the ordeal ruined my finals. It didn't really matter once I got him
back. I have souveneir lost Paulie posters.
Home again
