Hi all,
I'm just curious as to what some of you out there that live in a
house/apartment that has a "No Pet Policy"?
We live in an apartment that doesn't allow pets. When we moved there we
were never told this, we just found it in tiny print in the middle of
the lease (under the No Waterbeds, and yes we have a waterbed too). We
live in a complex with 6 buildings. Our landlord owns 2 of the 6. In
our building alone, I know of 2 apartments that have cats. The one
apartment faces the street and the 2 cats in there sit in the window
CONSTANTLY. Our landlord frequently visits our building during the day.
My only protection is keeping the top lock locked because he says he
doesn't have a copy of that key (which I highly doubt). The times that
he says he's coming in, I have to take off work and rearrange the
apartment (hiding all the goodies and covering the cage). Then I
smuggle the kids out for a visit down to grandma's house. I live in
constant fear though that he'll use that standard lease agreement
against me (the part where it says that we have NO RIGHTS and the
landlord has ALL the rights and can basically come in with no warning.)
Also, there's the fear of one of our nebnose tattle-tale neighbors will
spot them and squeal on us.
I just wondered how some of you out there deal with this situation, even
if you don't live in a FFZ.
Thanks!
Mish
