Melissa and Potpie here,

I have a few ideas so far as to how to acclimate Potpie to other ferrets,
and would appreciate hearing some feedback on the possible
success/failure of these methods...

1) The "Reward" method - a raisin or linatone to the Potpiemeiester every
time she's quiet or well-behaved. Alternately, smudge some Linatone
on the other ferret and see how she reacts.

2) Putting a toy of his into her room to let her get used to his scent,
then taking her to /his/ territory to see if perhaps part of her
aggressive reaction was territorial defense. Repeat.

I'm loath to try the 'let 'em go and let 'em go at it' method since the
other ferret is not mine - it's equivalent to letting a big, floppy dog
with a big, destructive tail run around in a china store. :)

ObAmusingCatVsFerretStory - Spooky the Cat still hasnt learned that
Potpie can easily whup cat butt any time of the day or week - the last
truly memorable interaction went thusly:

Spooky leaps into room over FerretProofBarrier, spies alert ferret.
Spooky: *pounce*
Potpie: *hyperzoom*launch*become whirling ball of fur amidst Spooky's feet*
Spooky, mere millseconds later, reconsiders, whirls about, and hightails
it out of the room, looking shocked. Total time spent in room: .05
seconds.

Potpie has much freer rein throughout the house now, and her new favorite
game is to lure a grouchy territorial Spooky into a chase where she
eventually dives under or into or between something he is too large to
slip through, causing him to *bonk* his head or skid in a desperate
attempt for control on our hardwood floors. hee.

Potpie,
"He really doesnt learn, does he, mom?"
and
Melissa,
"Maybe he's just a glutton for punishment."
