To Morgan Knicely and Fuzzdragon who is losing hair and can't get to the vet
until January:
 
        Let me state up front that when a symptom such as hair loss is present,
you should have the animal checked out by a vet as soon as possible.  In the
event of adrneal disease, the situation is generally not life-threatening, but
you want to do it as soon as possible.
 
        Remember, a lot of people don't even notice signs of disease unitl hair
loss is very prominent, and rescue operations are always receiving bald ferrets
which require the surgery to remove long standing adrenal lesions.
 
        Waiting until January probably won't have much impact on the course fo
the disease, but don't wait any longer after that - it's cold in January without
any hair....
