The Discovery show that Kelley and Michael referred to was on the series
"Balance of Nature" and it was titled "(On the trail of) The Russian
Mink". It was an excellent program and was rebroadcast about 1 month
ago. I taped it but missed the first 2 or 3 minutes trying to get the
stupid VCR to work. The program focused on the attempts to restock the
endangered Russian Mink by importing American mink. Someone did not do
their homework and has almost succeeded in wiping out the Russian
version. Seems the breeding cycles are different and when they
interbreed, the fetus's die inside the female. The show also featured
the ferret and the ermine. The "weasel war dance" is indeed just like
the crazy version of our ferrets but occurs after the ermine has killed
its dinner. Watch for rebroadcasts. It's worth the time!

[Rather like how the introduction of Canadian beaver has greatly decreased
the populations of native beavers in Europe.]
