        There could be a dominance factor here also, but a male in season is
often just an aggressive animal.  Most ferrets are relatively solicitous when
another one is sensed to be sick, not hostile (but there are exceptions.)
 
        I think you're right - that you should keep them separated (except under
highly supervised conditions until he coumes out of his season.
