Hi all - its me again. Kenny & I (the humans) will be going away in
August of this year for 4 days/3 nights. Due to certain circumstances,
we will not be able to take our little ones with us. Can anyone give
some suggestions on what road to take here?
I know they offer Doggie Kennels (which I've never been fond of myself -
more like Doggie Prison). If I were to have someone watch them, I'd
want someone reliable. Not to knock any of my friends, but the only
ones that could keep an eye on them would not have the time to do it
properly (meaning that they couldn't stay at our place and I don't want
our girls going to someones home that wasn't ferret proofed, and
generally don't know too much about watching ferrets. Most importantly,
they wouldn't be able to be home all day to keep an eye on the girls,
leaving all the time in the world for the kids to snoop into trouble -
snoop? trouble? no, no, not my ferrets).
I called my vet to see what she recommended and she gave me some numbers
of clients (animal parents?) who offer pet sitting services. I'm kind
of wary because all the services she recommended take the pets into
"their" homes. These guys aren't as simple as a dog or cat - trouble
finds them. I FULLY know that within 5 minutes of leaving they will
have turned this persons house upside down, chewed on a sponge and
crawled into a hole in the wall that leads outside...get the picture?
Has anyone ever dealt with this situation, and if so, what routes have
you taken?
If you want, you can e-mail me directly or post to the fml. Thanks!
Mish
