Hi. I posted about a year ago that I had noticed 4 small dots on Buddy's
right ear that I hadn't previously noticed. At the time I figured they might
be a tatoo, and that they had just been too small to notice previously, but
now I think maybe they hadn't been there before, because they are definitely
larger now. They are a dark brown color, and somewhat irregular. They don't
seem to be sensitive at all, and there's no swelling or anything else unusual
associated with them; they're just dark spots. Are these just age spots, or
might they be (gulp) skin cancer? Should I have my vet run any specific tests?

On a lighter note, here's a couple of funny stories about Sammy. When
he was still a toddler (a short 2 months ago) he once tried to jump from the
loveseat to the couch, but it turned out to be a bit beyond his ability; he
crashed face-first into the couch, sort of compressed as his back end tried
to keep going after his front end had stopped, and *then* fell straight down
to the floor (almost seemed like a cartoon :). Then he shook himself off and
ferret-danced around for a while :).

Sammy's bigger now (much!) and a little more sure of himself, but I
guess old habits die hard. The other day I was stepping over the child gate
to leave the livingroom where the fuzzies were playing. Just as I lifted my
back leg I heard a thud as Sammy crashed into the child gate, apparently in
a failed attempt to ambush my leg :).

Anyway, time to go home and let the fuzzies play in the autumn leaves in the
back yard again. Bye!
