Hi,
 
I have been reading this list for a while now and have noticed something.  It
seems like an awful high percentage of ferrets get sick and die at all ages.
Now this may be like the news: only bad stuff is consistenly reported.  But I
was wondering do ferrets ever lead a basically ill-free life until death?
 
It seems like there are so many illness.  I know its the same for humans, but
it still seems like the average human goes through life without so many life
threatening illness as our favorite fuzzies seem to get.  Its depressing to
think that my two little terrors have a future like that.  My roommate and I
have two ferrets, Rocket - a female, and Turbo - a male albino, and they have
had regular checkups and are in excellent health.  No mites, had their
distemper and rabies shots and in great health.  Both are descented and spayed
(came that way). Anyhow just wondering if anyone has some positive tales to
tell.
 
Thanks, and I realy enjoy this list.  I have learned a lot (like tricks on nail
cutting, ferret proofing and care, feeding tips, ect....) and out of all my
mailing lists this is my favorite,
