Hi all--

So far I've been strictly a lurker on the FML, but I wanted to jump in on
the Northern Exposure discussion. I watched the episode with my husband,
and as soon as I saw the first shot of the ferret we bet each other on
how many minutes it would take them to either say "It belongs in the
wild" or release it into the wild. He won. It took much longer for them
to get there than I thought it would.

I was reminded of an older episode of the sitcom "Full House." (If this
episode has already been discussed here, please forgive me.) In the
sitcom, the family was hearing noises in the attic, and somebody said he
immediately recognized the animal noises as a ferret. They spent the
whole episode trying to catch the ferret... then released it "back into
the wild where it belongs."

My husband's attitude has been "C'mon! It's just a TV show!" But I
maintain that this may be the only exposure some people have to ferrets,
and they should be portrayed accurately. Just another of my pet peeves,
I suppose.

My question is this: Has anyone seen anything on television or in
the movies in which a ferret was accurately represented? I'm really
interested in knowing if it has ever been done.

... Sam :)
