I've been reading some of the newspaper stories on the McDowell's case, as well
as some information collected by Ferret Family Services. *Several* departments
in Kansas do consider ferrets to be domestic; the problem is that not *all*
do. Its beginning to make me wonder what the situation is in the other states.
We usually don't find out until a bite case comes up. Is there any list,
anywhere, of all the relevant departments (Fish & Wildlife/Wildlife & Parks,
Dept. of Health, Dept. of Animal Health, etc.) in all the various states, and
what their official policy is? If not, I think it might be a handy resource --
it would be nice to know which states (and which departments within the state)
say what and on what basis.....
