Hi, I'm Sean, a new ferret owner, and this is my first post to this
list. I've had Digger for about a 6 weeks, and have found her to be
rather passive as far as I've heard of ferrets.
Yesterday, I had some homework to do, so I went to this river valley
close by me to do it. I took digger with me. Digger was on a thin
string type harness with a 50 foot rope attached, and I let her run and
explore while I read. After she got tangled in some trees, she was able
to free herself of the harness!
I looked up after a bit of reading and could see bushes rustling a
good 100 ft away. I found her quickly, but I wonder how lucky I was.
I hear stories of people taking their ferrets out to public, and
wooded areas, and I wonder what precautions are taken.
I work most of the day, and go to school most evenings, and hardly have
any time at home with the ferret, and I was think she's bored. I was
wondering about getting a second ferret, to keep Digger company.
Anyone have any thoughts or advice on this.
Sean!
