Just to re-iterate info about travelling to Michigan:

When I lived in Illinois, I travelled to Michigan approximately every
other weekend (for about a year) and almost always took my ferret with
me. My family loved to see her and I loved to take her. There are no
"inspection stations" going into Michigan like their are for
California. It was extremely simple. My only concern for travelling
with a ferret in Michigan would be getting pulled over for something.
Even so, I think another person stated that Michigan does not give
fines. I believe they do just try to re-locate ferrets out of state if
caught (at least that's what happened to my cousin when she moved from
Texas to Michigan and got caught). If you were pulled over and there
was a problem, you could just offer to leave the state.

     Good Luck,

     Deb
