To Anon concerning ticks:
 
    You're both right.  It is rare for ferrets to get ticks, becuase most
ferrets don't go outside.  But if a ferret does go to an outdorr event, or get
loose and wander around outside - if it passes through brush which is infested
with ticks, it will pick them up just like any other animal....
