Dear T,
Please post me privately for more information and help.
In general, this is true - but it does look strange...
"THE SURGEON GENERAL HAS FOUND OWNING FERRETS ON MILITARY BASES TO BE A
HAZARD TO YOUR HEALTH"
Okay - stop laughing, this is serious...
Since we don't HAVE a surgeon general right now, you can't fight this. But
in the past it has been ignored. Most military vets won't treat ferrets on
base, but you can usually find a local vet who does not care that you have a
ferret on military housing. I live outside DC (where ferrets are illegal
and there are plenty of military bases) and I know lots of ferrets living on
Bolling AFB. I have also taken in a lot of ferrets that were given up for
the very reasons T describes. The decision is yours (to keep or give up)
and I would like to continue to try and help the military see the light and
accept ferrets. maybe the next Surgeon General???
Anyway - I am a safehouse contact for temporary storage of ferrets needing
to be off base or out of apartments due to inspections - contact me for
outlets located in other cities as well.
