To Irene, whose ferret passed bright red feces:
 
        Irene, this is not abnormal, if it is only a one-time thing and your pet
has pased good bowel movements since.
 
        If feces has blood in it, you will either be able to  1) identify it as
blood, because it often forms small clots, or 2) it will be digested and the
feces will be tarry looking.
 
        Feces can come in all shades of color at various times, depending on
what the ferret has eaten and the gastrointestinal transit time.  I would just
monitor, and if everything goes back to normal, then we're probably okay.
