As I was certain of when I last talked about Bandit, he didn't make it. He
died around 9:30PM on Friday night. (shortly after I sent my message) Thanx
to all who sent me private e-mail, it helped lots knowing that others can
feel the way I did.
With the help of a good friend (who left a party when I called him and told
him that Bandit had died) I buried Bandit, wrapped in his favorite towel,
with his favorite food and snacks, in a 12 pack box. He loved to play and
sleep in 12 pack (empty) boxes.
My mother is doing great. She ended up only having a Lumpectomy, and a few
Lymphnodes removed. She will know in a week if she will have to take
radiation treatment, but it shouldn't be cheamo (sp?).
Saturday morning, after Bandit had died, I was sitting on the couch, half
way watching TV, when I heard a noise. Jake (ferret) was at the feeder, and
was slowly digging food out of it. I looked at him, and just said "Jake!"
He looked at me, with that "I wasn't doing anything" look, and at full
speed started to dig all the food out of the feeder. Food was flying
everywhere, and it only took him about a minute to empty the thing. When he
was done, he looked at me, and did a beautiful ferret dance. He never
touched the feeder before, and he hasn't since. It's like he knew that I
was depressed, and was trying in his own way to help me. It worked. I
laughed for 5 minutes.
I know that animals can sense feelings, but I've never seen one react that
way. My cats, and the other 2 ferrets were extra cuddly, but Jake had to be
a clown. Has anyone else ever seen that type of reaction?
Happy New Year everyone,
Brian, Kitty, Ferrah, Jake, Fletch, and Buddy
