I suppose it should suprise me that the zoo doesn't know about problems with
wood shavings and ferrets, but it doesn't. I've heard enough stories about the
"care" some zoos give their animals that if this is the worst problem then they
are doing well. I suppose you probably ought to write that letter although one
(or several) from vets who have experience with ferrets would probably have
more effect. Maybe Dr. Williams would send them one. I doubt that Black Footed
Ferrets are that much different that wood shavings aren't just as bad for them
as our pets.
