I don't know if this will work, maybe one of the vets can verify this for me,
but perhaps if anyone must take a carpet shark in the car on a warm day, you
could put a milk carton in the cage that you have filled with water and
frozen. I know this works for rabbits, who also overheat very easily. When
I had rabbits, I would keep two or three gallon milk jugs (with the screw on
lids) in the freezer, full of water that would, of course, freeze. I would
put one in the rabbit cage and if the rabbits were too warm, they would get
closer to the cold jug. This worked very well, and I never had a problem
with overheated rabbits even in very hot, humid weather. Maybe this would
also work with ferrets?? From Chris, Willow, and Smudge.
