----This might be caused by the often-observed "orange crusties" on the
surface of the skin. One way to tell for sure is to get a look at the skin
surface in the colored regions, and look for orangish spots. For whatever
reason, this causes the underfur in the area to turn a light cinnamon or
yellow color as well.
