To the person who requested info on Frito (I think it was Andrea) -
Dr. Bruce Williams posted an article on cardio in ferrets last
fall. I don't know the exact issue, but you should get in touch with
him. His phone # is 202-576-2453, and his e-mail address is
[log in to unmask], and he is always responsive to people. I
am sure he can either send you a copy or tell you which issue it is
in, which you can then get from the archives (see the header on each
issue for details on getting back issues).
Also a question for everyone, since summer is (theoretically)
coming (although you couldn't tell it by the weather in New England
over the past few days). This will be my first summer with Slinky, and
I know there are concerns about heat stress. I have read what has been
here before, and I have some idea of what to do to make sure this isn't
a problem but no one has specified what kind of a water supply he will
need. Is it enough to make sure his water bottle is full each day?
Should I chill water and put it in at the start of the day? I don't
have AC in my house and, although he is shaded, I want to make sure he
doesn't get too hot....
Thanks everyone - hope all ferrets are doing well!
Best - Mason, Slinky, and Leila (the cat who wants to know why we can't
keep the window opened every day even if it is raining....)
