You really have to be a strong person to make the kind of decision you
made.  I just recently (January 22nd) had to put my little Bandit to sleep.
 I have him buried out front under our oak tree.  My vet treated him in a
similar way your vet did.  What a tramatic experience.  I dred facing that
again ever.  I admire your strength.
