        To Kathy concerning distemper shots:
 
        CANINE distemper shots!!!  Feline distemper is a completely different
disease which does not cause problems in ferrets.  If your vet gives them feline
distemper shots they will not be protected against canine distemper which is
100% fatal in ferrets.
 
        Regarding keeping ferrets outside - I'm not sure what part of the
country you live in, but ferrets do not take any form of heat stress well.  An
inside home is advisable...
