Hi All!
I've been off the FML for a while now because of summer break and a tough
spring quarter (I'm a college student) but ow I'm back :)
Please forgive me if I go on about a recent subject since I haven't been
able to be in any conversations or read them :)

My question/concern/problem... however I should phrase it. There are several
students on my campus who have ferrets. Since it's a small campus I've met
many of them and there pets and we've even gotten all the 'kids' together at
various points for a little ferret socializing. (a flood of character traits
come rushing through--it's so wonderful to watch) So, my thought. Many people
I know have 'misconceptions' of ferrrets and their attitudes and behaviours
as pets including that they bite (always), are generally mean, and so on and
so forth... These 'misconceptions' also do seem to be true with several of the
ferrets I know. Mine would never hurt anyone or even put their teeth on
someone, unless holding you for a good lick :), or be mean and hyper and
vicious. I don't understand why this is the case for other people. From
reading the FML I was under the impression that everyone else's ferrets were
as fun and well-behaved as mine. Please reassure me! :( I will still always
love ferrets and have them (or be had by them :) but it is discouraging to
see so many people having them and this 'stereotype' being furthered.

Am I making any sense? Sorry if I'm just rambling.
Oh, also, I do my best to bring as many people as I can in contact with mine
so they realize what lovable creatures they are.

Frustrated

Maybe ferrets should think harder and investgate longer before selecting
parents, lest they select the wrong type :)
