Andrea and Leigh-Ann,

Thanks for writing back about PETA. I think that 90% of the work that PETA
does is good and important - like educating people about fur, promoting cruelty
free products, giving sources for good vegetarian recipes.... lots of cool
stuff. But I don't always like their tactics and I don't like the idea that
I couldn't easily bring Wednesday to a rally to demonstrate on behalf of her
animal cousins. (Wedn' adores being out in a crowd, and I think she'd melt
the hearts of prospective mink-buyers who might not realize what wondrous
creatures they are setting out to wear). I think adoption of pets is a good
idea, and we got our second ferret thusly, but the badness of many pet stores
does not mean that animal companions are bad and I wish I could convince them
of that so that Wedn' could join the activism effort.

Cheers,
Geri, Manny, Wednesday and Roddenberry, also PETA members...
