I was hoping that Roger McMillan (sp?) could send me some
info on the Chicago Ferret Fair.  I have looked in
some back issues and have not been able to find the right one.

Obligatory Cute Ferret Story Follows . . .
 
Every other night or so, I try to take a ferret out for a walk
(in their harness).  Well, the other night was Roo's turn.  I
can only take one out at a time because all 4 would be shear
lunacy :)  Well, we took a walk down to the post office (about
4 blocks away) and decided to take another route home.  On the
way home, we walked past a fenced in yard with 3 small beagle-type
dogs.  Well, Roo knows my sisters *HUGE* dogs (all females who think
that the ferrets are puppies :)  Well, Roo stared at the dogs,
trying to figure out what was going on.  Then, she took
2 steps to the left, the dogs did the same, 2 steps to the right,
and the dogs followed.  All 3 dogs were doing mirror images of
Roo's movements.
 
After a few minutes of her doing this, she got the freaks and we
left.  I could not figure out why she left, the dogs were wagging
their tails and not barking, just following her movements.  Then,
I figured it out.  Roo must have thought she was looking in a
mirror and that she had turned into 3 small UGLY (to a ferret) dogs.
The poor thing, I would freak out too  :)
