Check out FML 658 (my experience) and 669 (B. Norton's) for info on
flying into FFZ's with baby furries.  There are definitely some
caveats you should know about in advance!
As far as check points when driving in from Nevada, if you get off 80
at Truckee and drive through Truckee (past the Safeway--or along the
right of the freeway) you miss the check station completely.  The
check stations aren't too bad anyway...If you have an out of state
lisence plate, they'll stop you and ask you if you have any
fruit...if you have a CA plate (or ski's at this time of the year),
they usually won't even stop you.
