We just got two new ferrets (our first) from a shelter, and they
are well-adjusted and happy animals.. They sniff around the
perimeter of our ferret-proofed home and try to get into anything
they can. We feed them a few ferret treats from time to time..
They don't seem to "bond" with us, however. They don't want to
sit on our lap or relax with us. They don't run away either..
they are not hard to catch to put back in their nice 2 1/2 story
cage when they are through with "fun time". We have only had them
for three days (but it seems like longer). Is this normal new
ferret behavior?? The shelter operator told us that the ferrets
were rescued from a bad home and were a bit shy. They had spent a
month in the shelter before we got them.
The ferrets are neutered/descented females about a year old.
Any thoughts???
