O.K. everyone here's the deal. The lovely and talented Pam Grant put
togather a great Shelter and Vet Listing for her S.T.A.R. organization.
She sent me down the latest copy and I had 1000 made. We handed these
out at the Animal Care EXPO 93 - they were invaluable. What I need
everyone to do is this: If you know of a ferret shelter in your area
or a Veternarian who treats ferrets in your area, or a half-way house
that accepts ferrets in your area I want you to post it to Mr. Howard
Davis compuserve #70367,3461. Be sure and post the organization
name, person to contact, address, and phone number. THIS IS VERY
IMPORTANT. Everyone who came by the booth got at lease one copy
of the listing - We want to keep the HSUS as informed as possible
about the ferret shelters and rescue's so that those HSUS shelters
that do not accept ferrets (and sometimes euthanize them) can call
someone on the listing in their area and the ferret can be rescued.
Since we handed out the listing (march 17-20th) I have received 47
phone calls and or letters telling of how great the listing was and
how a ferrets life was saved because of that. So come on everyone
send howard your input. In return howard will be sure it gets to
Pam Grant. I want everybody to join in on this so put this message
on other net works. Everyone is doing a bang up job at getting
the information on ferrets out and educating the public - lets keep
at it. Signed Chere McCoy, Ferret Friends of Indian River County
