Our brothers and sisters on the Marine Mammal Mailing List are organizing an
E-mail petition to be delivered at the next meeting of the International Whaling
Commission in support of maintaining the world ban on whaling. They have sent
out a request to post this on as many forums as possible and since many ferret
lovers are involved in conservation work (The Black Footed Ferret for instance)
I thought everyone on this forum might like a chance to participate--I know if
the ferret community were trying to mount a big petition drive, we would
appreciate the support of others.  This is a time sensitive issue, the IWC
meeting will be held May 23 in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.  Anyone who can mail
to/thru internet may contact Dez Blanchfield at [log in to unmask] to get emailed
a copy of the petition. Others can e-mail me at [log in to unmask] and I will
send you the petition and instructions.
