I can suggest what my two year old calls his stuffed ferret (and the real
ones), Ferrek, but then that is just how fathers end up suggesting things.
My all time favorite ferret name however is Pandora.  Alas, our Pandora
died very young from a cold or flu which just wouldn't go away, at least so
I believe.  But there are other Pandoras out there who are doing well, I am
happy to say.
 
Your son sounds wonderful by the way.  Wouldn't it be nice if more children
could pronounce ferrets "nice"!  Personally I kind of like
thunder-lightning too, and you could use TL for short.
