(forgive me for just reading the list and not posting.  I currently dont have a
ferret (damned land lord might throw us all out into the street) but the humane
society DID just call me so it looks possible)
 
Cabinet:
 
        There are little latches that you can put on the inside of drawers and
cabinets to keep children out.  Its a little thumb/finger latch that allows the
cabinet to be opened only so far then you have to reach in with a finger to
release it.  They work well for 2 - 3 year olds but once the child sees what it
is you do to open it they catch on fast.  I would suggest you put them up high
so your 'children' cant actually reach it (I have no doubts that a fer't
wouldnt be able to figure it out and gain access).
