Has anyone whose ferrets had the adrenal surgery had to force
their weasels to eat and drink afterward? V'orri wil not drink on his
own, nor will he eat at all. In order to get him to drink I've been
putting a few pieces of Iams in warm water to flavor it then spooning
some in his mouth. He takes a few licks from the bowl then throws himself
away from it and tries to hide. I've tried nutrical on him for food, and
while he was still semi-awake the first night he was willing to take some
licks, but now I have to open his mouth and put it in to get him to do
even that. Last night I had to use a syringe to force fluids on him.
I pester him every couple of hours to eat and drink. How long
will this go on? It honestly seems to me that he wants to curl up and
die. He has never liked to be separated from Frieda, but I'm afraid to
leave her with him. Is it ok to cage them together or should I still
keep them separate ? I'm still forcing fluids, and will probably have to
go to sub-q fluids by tonight or Monday at the latest.
HELP!!!
