Re the inquiry about hiccups (or what looks like hiccups) in ferrets, my
3-yr old sable male does it all the time, and although I've always wondered
about it, he doesn't seem to mind it.
 
The new one (as of last week), Pixel, a 1-yr old sterling silver, seems to
be doing okay, but Elie has gone from being terrified of her to being somewhat
aggressive.  I know ferrets have been known to play rough, but how do you tell
when it's time to separate them.  On several occasions they have tussled, with
much hissing and squealing but no injury, and I always freak out and separate
them right away.
 
Should I be letting them work it out for themselves, do you think?
